Mahaveer Award Presented to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar &Lord Paul

LONDON: NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul and spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar were honoured by the Young Vegetarian Society and a Hindu group in London.

While 'Art of Living' founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was presented with the Mahaveer Award for his peace initiatives and promoting non-violence and universal brotherhood, Lord Paul was given an Honorary Award for promoting vegetarianism and ethical values.

The function was organised in the House of Commons last evening. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar also held separate meetings with British Environment Minister David Miliband and the Minister in charge of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Barry Gardiner. .
